The collectible medals of the series "Rarities of the Museum of the History of Money" are dedicated to Russian coins presented in the museum exposition. They are made of cupronickel or tombac, depending on the color of the metal of the coins to which they are dedicated.
All 24 medals of the series "Rarities of the Museum of the History of Money" were minted at the St. Petersburg Mint - a branch of JSC Goznak.
The first ten were minted in 2018, when Goznak celebrated its 200th anniversary. In 2019, five more were added to them, in 2020 the series was also replenished with five, and in 2021 the series was completed with the release of the last four.
The circulation of each item is 500 pieces, the quality of manufacture is "proof-like". The diameter of the tokens is 35 mm.
The author of the sketches for all the tokens in the series is the leading artist of the Design Center of JSC Goznak, E. V. Kramskaya.
