According to South Africa Tokens, 2021 Edition, by Dr Morgan Carroll et al., Wonderland was an amusement hall in Durban, South Africa, operated by the Automatic Amusement Co. The company as founded by Mr Samuel Newton in 1938 and these tokens were issued in 1942.
The tokens were sold to the patrons of the amusement hall arcade for 1 Penny each. They have the same diameter as the circulation pennies of the time.
