This 100 Billion Mark note was issued by the city of Freital at the absolute peak of the German hyperinflation crisis in late 1923. Issued on November 3, 1923, it circulated for only a matter of days before the Weimar Republic introduced the Rentenmark on November 15, 1923, to stabilise the economy and halt the inflation spiral.
