(en) The lordship of Vauvillers, located on the borders of the County of Burgundy on the edge of Lorraine, has a very particular situation. The sharing of borders between these provinces has given it a particular status, it is in abeyance, and therefore does not depend on one nor the other. The sovereign lords of Vauvillers used royal law from the 14th century, but we had to wait for Nicolas II of Châtelet to see a significant minting of coins imitating those of all the neighboring powers.
