This 5 coin Masterpieces in Silver Set was issued by the RAM in 1989.

The five Fifty Cent coins in this set were based on the only Fifty Cent coin designs that had been issued up to that time. All five coins were based on previous commemorative circulation issues.

The first one was based on the 1970 Captain Cook commemorative circulation coin.

The second one was based on the 1977 QE II Silver Jubilee commemorative circulation coin.

The third one was based on the 1980 Charles & Dianna Wedding commemorative circulation coin.

The fourth one was based on the 1982 Brisbane Commonwealth Games commemorative circulation coin.

The fifth one was based on the 1988 First Fleet Bicentenary commemorative circulation coin.

A Sterling Silver (.925) bar with the the Mint Name and Set Number was also included in the Set

All five coins were dated 1989.

Coins were issued in individual capsules, then placed in slots in an inner soft holder, that was inside a leatherette folding case, then in an outside cardboard slipcase.
