This 2011 BU Set of coins was minted by The Royal Dutch Mint in Utrecht and issued by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand & New Zealand Post. The set was packaged in a blister type folding coincard and was inserted in a slipcase.

The set contains five standard definitive coins, 10c, 20c, 50c, $1 & $2.

The metal composition was changed for the definitive coins in this BU Set.

The 10 cent coin was made from pure Copper instead of Copper Plated Steel.

The 20 cent coin was made from Copper-nickel instead of Nickel Plated Steel.

The 50 cent coin was made from Copper-nickel instead of Nickel Plated Steel.

The $1 coin was made from Brass instead of Aluminium-bronze.

The $2 coin was made from Brass instead of Aluminium-bronze.

The NCLT $5 coin is celebrating the Yellow-Eyed Penguin also known also as hoiho or tarakaka, is a species of penguin endemic to New Zealand. Previously thought closely related to the little penguin, molecular research has shown it more closely related to penguins of the genus Eudyptes. Like most other penguins, it is mainly piscivorous.
