This Set of Seventeen Medals was issued by the Herald Sun Newspaper in 1996. The Herald Sun is a daily newspaper based in Melbourne, Australia, published by The Herald and Weekly Times, a subsidiary of News Corp Australia, itself a subsidiary of News Corp.
The Seventeen Medal Set was issued with a special album. The Medals were celebrating the Centenary of the Australian Football League. Sixteen Australian Rules Football Clubs were each represented as well as a special medal to represent the Premiership Cup.
