A special Netherlands 8 Coin BU Set issued for the 20th Tokyo Numismatic Salon (1 - 3 May 2009).

This folder commemorates 400 years of trade relations between the Netherlands and Japan. On 20 September 1609, the Dutch East India Company (VOC - Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie ) opened an office in the city of Hirado to import soybeans, spices, and porcelain.
