On the second of august 1858 the Colonial Office made British Colombia a crown colony called the colony of British Colombia. Because of the gold rush they decided to make a gold 10 and 20 dollars. I've just requested the addition of a banknote to get the ball rolling.
That is a banknote of the Colony of British Columbia.
British Columbia became a Canadian province in 1871.

It's a fair point but most of the coins and notes listed under “Canadian provinces” actually predate the formation of the modern Canadian state in 1867.
