Two Bavarian Thaler, KM# 692 and 693

N#158158

N#266752

are both given a weight of 28 grams, silver fineness of .833 and an edge inscription “12 EINE FEINE MARK”. However, the composition implies a silver content of 23.32 g, very close to a tenth of a Cologne mark (233.856 g), so something is wrong. I know Thaler were issued by other German states containing 1/12 mark of silver, so it could be that the composition is wrong. Does anyone have any further information?

Both pages have that from their creation from auction sales. I would propose Coin information and questions section for such question.

These thalers should have ZEHEN EINE FEINE MARK on the edge.

hello,

I can only agree to the last reply.

Searching in Thun catalog, both types are described as Konventionstaler,, X e.f.M.

Inscription on rim:"ZEHEN EINE FEINE MARK"
