Flags - please add in the flags used at the time of when they were used.

Please add in the flags used at the time when they were released under.

For example, the banknotes & coins of South Africa should be listed using the older flag for those from 1961 to 1993.

Afghanistan has had several flags since the late 19th. Century.

Of course, China has had several flags - especially prior to 1949.

Sorry I didn't understand your question. We indeed can define different flags per issuer. The current granularity is per ruler, not the exact date when flags were adopted.

See for example an older flag of South Africa:

We don't differentiate the Dominion of Ceylon and the Colony of Ceylon on Numista.

We defined the British queens and kings are rules for Ceylon, and different flags are attached depending on the period. However, the reign of Queen Victoria and the mintage of the coin N#12111 span across both the Dominion period and the Colony period, so we had to pick one of the two possible flags here.
