So I just purchased some Scythian dolphin money which is a proto-coin from Scythia. This currency was used as religious and trade tokens, and eventually circulating currency, dating between 500 and 400 BC and was minted in Pontic Olbia on the Black Sea. These proto-coins, as the name suggest, take the from of a dolphin and were minted in mostly bronze but occasionally in silver. As Pontic Olbia was minting these before they become Scythian, it could be listed under a subsection and as a mint. I was thinking that adding a new issuer (being Scythia) and thus new coins to the catalogue would be beneficial.
Thanks for reading my post, hopefully some others out there have these proto-coins in their collection and desire them to be added to the catalogue.
Regards, Numis Dude.
