I have just seen that the "swap monitor" has received new looks. As many of us asked for changes for a better swap monitor I am, first of all, happy that something got changed, thank you for that.
However, the current changes are as I think only a first step. This kind of overview may be suitable if you only have a few swaps going on. If you have a lot of swaps going on (like I do) you get lost quite fast even on the new swap monitor, so I had to get back to the old swap monitor.
A couple of suggestions from my side to make a new swap monitor more suitable for people, who have a lot of swaps going on:
First option: 2 fields to click: either "swap open" or "swap closed"
Second option: (drop down menu) with multiple options to click on: "offer modified (by me/by swapping partner)"; "offer confirmed (by me/by swapping partner"), "offer turned down (by me/by swapping partner), "swap rated (by me/by swapping partner"....
I think it is better for the user if he/she is able to choose the options of swaps that he/she wants to see himself, than if he would always have to see all swaps in the swap monitor.
This is by no means a complete solution but maybe a starting point for discussion to get a better swap monitor.
In my opinion new swap monitor is useless - I have many swaps in different stages and displaying them all in one long list is bad idea. When I open this list I even do not understand with what to start, moreover cancelled/refused swaps also are there and makes the picture even worse.
If someone likes it, he can use it, but please do not remove the old swap monitor. These changes are a bit in style of Ebay - to take the element that works well and change it to something different that works much worse, if works at all.
I find the new one good. But yes; it needs the ability to hide finished (both user rated or rejected) ones. And also the ability to SORT them by their stage and date.

Also the current state "rated" doesn't say that much, as soon one of the two rated the swap it get this status. I would like to know as soon as both has rated the swap.
I just wanted to give a statement to the new design of the swap monitor.
Up so far, I'm simply skipping the new page and using the old site instead. Due to the following reasons.
The new design might be visually appealing. But isn't comprehensible.
As that graphical overview requires way more space than the simple list view, it's simply ineffective in providing a summarized overview.
Sure, I'm used to that grouped list which is in fact a logical structure. Swaps in negoiation first, succeded by the swap in negoiation. Confirmed swaps afterwards. That is already a structure which seems to work quite well in the past. As the most important swaps are those in negoiation.
The new swap monitor instead isn't respecting that structure. In theory an 4 months old swap which has been confirmed already. But one of the swap partners forgot to rate the swap. Would be pushed to the top of the list.
At the moment I've got 5 offered swaps, 4 in negoiation and 1 swap confirmed. As well as 6 swaps which are finished / turned down. It's in fact annoying to search for a specific swap in that new list which is in strict chronological order.
The old swap monitor requires 530px in height for that ammount of swaps.
The new design isn't filtering the completed swaps. Thus it will grow in size. A person with 200 completed swaps would have a very long site to scroll through
In comparison to the 530px I've got for the old design. The new new swap monitor is almost 5 times that large in height. I've got to scroll at least the top 1000px to achieve the information which already fitted in half that size
Following your suggestions, I have made some modifications on the swap monitor.
The box "rated" does not represent your own rating only anymore. It now shows up at the first rating, whoever it was made by. At this step, the box is hatched. It turns to plain green when both members have rated the swap. On computers, a tooltip provides information about the last rating.
The box "confirmed" now shows up as soon as one of the members validated a swap offer. It is first hatched, and it becomes plain blue when the swap offer gets accepted by the other member.
It is now possible to sort the list by swap progress, not only by date of the last update. It allows the hot swaps first (opened, under discussion) and the denied swaps are pushed to the end of the list. Note that Numista will remember your choice of sorting when you come back on the swap monitor.

hi Xavier,
i see there have been a change in the rate state, so we can see the differents between just rate by yourself or both rated!
Thanks for that, that helps :-)
Thanks to Numista team, good work.
At the beginning i was puzzled about the new swap monitor, but now after some mouths i am glad, finally i can take in order my many swaps without to forget some collector who wrote me and to know exact situation of each swap.

It took a while to get used to the new format and I would often switch back to the old view. Not any more though, I'm quite used to it now and liking it very much.
1st class improvement, good job.

And I thought that everyone was shouting that it was horrible.. When I wrote that there are just a few minor things that needed to be changed and people also just needed to get used to it, my message was reported by some member on here and immediately deleted by a moderator because of "unprofessional behaviour".
After the entire thing was solved behind the scenes, Mr moderator a few days later thought that it was a good idea to start the entire thing over again in the forum. When I asked why he did this he replied that he thought that that was exactly what I wanted.
That's why I kept my mouth firmly shut when it was first launched. I'm not very receptive to new things, if it was up to me we would all still be using Win 3.1. Sometimes the improvements turn out to be in the Windows XP class as is the case here and the forum editor, sometimes they are more like Windows 10, as is the case with the idiotic changes made to coin denominations.
Just like with the new windows, there was no demand for the change, it serves no purpose but to feed the fragile ego of it's creator, it's complete gibberish which nobody understands and it isn't compatible with any other platform or cataloging system. Just like with Microsoft we are brushed off with a "we know best" attitude or simply ignored.
It seems sometimes that there is a fringe within the Numista team who are determined to see the website follow in the footsteps of IBM and the Betamax VCR.

P.S. I know what you mean about those simpering beta males who keep clicking the report button. Somebody once flagged 9 posts of mine in a single topic before it was deleted, now come on... nobody is that sensitive!. What kind of Nancy Boy does things like that eh? Some folks just need to butch up, grow a pair and learn to deal with life, don't you think?

Well, I only know 1 Nancy Boy on here and that's you so I don't know about who you are talking.

May be it is possible to make a small change for the swap monitor: now it allows to switch new swap monitor by "time" and "progress" and remembers my choice of them. It allows also to switch to "Old swap monitor" but does not remember my choice regarding this option.
In fact that means that those members who prefers old swap monitor shall switch it manually all the time when open the swap monitor.
Can someone please put the old swap monitor as third choice? Like this:
I would call this sorting choice as "stage" (of swap), but name does not matter. As option it would give the benefit for those who prefers old swap monitor and would not bother those who prefers new one.
