Numista Social Media Team

Dear Xavier,

I think Numista should use social media much more often. Furthermore I think that it would be good if Numista would become active on Twitter. A social media team than needs to be created. For sure in case Numista is offline, many people come to the Facebook page of Numista for updates. Currently there is no-one who replies to these messages besides me (via my personal account), as I consider it as part of my role as Numista Team member. I think it would be better if some people get an "admin" rank on the Facebook page and so can also reply in name of Numista. As there are so many people who have questions, it's very hard for me to reply to all of them so it would be great if multiple people (native speakers of multiple languages) can be added to the social media team. For example I currently also comment in Spanish and Italian but as this is not my native language, it takes a lot of time before I have found a 100% correct translation. Social media are also a great way to interact with people who like Numista and to announce new updates.

I would of course also like to hear the comments of members.

Oh yes! I agree, and would also be happy to help if there was any way that I could.

I know I wouldn't use social media all the much and generally find it a waste of time. How ever, I did vote I like the idea for one reason, when numista was down there was not way for me to know if it was going to come back. A simple post to twitter saying, "Numista is down, working on the issue" would have eased my concern.

Other than that I feel like people can just use the forum for other questions. That is what it is there for. I don't understand why people need to have numista on facebook, snapchat and pintrest.

I agree. I saw the trouble the recent shutdown made and how much difficult it was to manage all this. Furthermore, the idea to create Twitter accounts (one in French and one in English, as the only official languages of Numista) is good, as having experienced troubles in other situations (as online games) which needed Twitter's help to find answers of these.

However, I agree that Facebook and Twitter would be enough for social medias.

Definitely a good idea to have a strong presence on social media.

What about having a presence on Instagram & Pinterest as well as Facebook?

Amazing, 2 days with no answer and the world is down !!
If the site is down, just take a beer and wait
It is not absolutely necessary to stick to all medias when there is already a forum.
I don't want to do like my 15yr old son and have the thumbs glued to my phone all the time !
If you use properly the available tools, very very much can already be improved !

My conclusion. NO. No need for that. At least not urgent !
The urgency is the core of Numista, the catalogue, and the functionality of the forum ID, Numismatic discussion etc.
