Simple suggestion, Xavier should appoint a referee administrator to manage/add/remove referees so he doesn't have to spend time on that task.

I nominate Jarcek :)

Agree with both the suggestion and the nomination.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.
Make Numismatics Great Again!
I agree with both........ But Xavier doesn't seem to like appointing admins at all, considering response times to requests or issues with very slow response.

When I applied, a few after Ecapoe and Jarcek were nominated, I got nominated quite quickly. Xavier managing issues seem more due to overmailing, according to Xavier himself.

I agree, we need someone to approve nominations. However, before he nominates anyone, I would ask for an admission commitee, with other admins at least.

Catalogue administrator, numerous Antique nations and Lorraine referee.
I totally agree with this idea. I'm currently thinking about a new organization to delegate more and empower administrators.
B.... I am intrigued now.

Thanks for you support guys. I would be willing to do this, under one precondition, expressed by Chomp... There would need to be at least three of us for this. (And work in consensus.)
Catalogue administrator
As bilingual, count on my help. Another French-speaking admin would be needed as well to help us investigating on French-speaking applicants.

Important point.
Keep the site bilingual is a difficult task but has to be done. Keep the balance, encourage people to look at both sides of the forum, send Jarek to french classes :P, etc. It is one of Numista's specificity.

And I don't speak for myself B) I don't have enough time for that.
Quand l'Histoire et la Géographie se croisent sur nos pièces de monnaie ...
We have to open a topic in concerned section and see if someone will help.

What about a development team Xavior? Since there are so many development requests an nothing done in last time. As I said many times, you deserve a personal life, but delegate responsible guys to keep this website organized and improved.

I totally agree! His work from a few months has been amazing. He's very dedicated for the site. :)

I hope you mean specific administrators who have demonstrated the required maturity and leadership qualities and not a blanket empowerment of any and all?

While I welcome the idea in general I can think of several examples who are simply not emotionally equipped for power.

Amen, brother!
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.

Former coin and banknote catalogue referee.
I think the 'new organisation' part infers it won't just be empowering all current moderators.

I was thinking a little about structure, and at google we actually don't have much 'middle management' - Instead when a small decision needs made the team leaders get together and establish a quorum. From thereon in, it's a simple vote, as not all team leaders etc are always available.

Perhaps this could be done for referee appointments.

A thread in the forum to apply/nominate themselves on either the english or french forum, a normal member to second the nomation, a small discussion everybody can be involved in, and then a minumum of 2/3 saying 'yay' administrators to complete the appointment. This way no one administrator can screw things up and it doesn't need 100% activity from all admins.

I think this will help referees develop their communication/social skills too.

Go ahead and do it then! Lovely!
