OK, I know this is controversal, and that most of these don't use any other flags than the French tricolour, or that there are more than one unofficial flag. But, to me at least, it's a little confusing with all the French flags in the sub-sections of France, when I quickly want to check out any of the overseas colonies. This might've been up before, though.

So here's might be all for nothing, but I just throw it out there and leave it all up to a community vote, or a staight yes/no answer from Xavier or the administrators and moderaters.

I vote for number 1 in all cases, but I just realised that number 3 is currently used for Martinique in the Country list. B) But, like I said before, I leave it all up to the authorities. :)
Hello,
thank you for the overview and here are my thoughts:
Cita: "ngdawa"French colonies
Royal Standard of France, before 1792

French Guiana

Former Departmental Council of French Guiana. (Yes, it was disbanded in 2015)
French Guiana issued coins 1780-1887. And banknotes until the 1960s.
• the departmental council flag was introduced in 2010.

There is a historical flag, used after 1901, which might be more appropriate:

But I am not sure about this...

This is already used in Numista

The "Snake flag"

Territorial Collectivity of Martinique flag (used in sporting events)

Nationalist and Independentist flag

Martinique issued coins until the 1920s and banknotes until 1963
• The Snake Flag is considered offensive in Martinique due to its association with the slave trade
• The CTM ipséité flag seems to be widely used today, but dates from 2018
• The nationalist flag dates from 1970

Not sure what we should do here... Snake flag seems historically correct, but we shouldn't use an offensive symbol.

Réunion issued coins and notes until the 70s.
These flags were created after the late 80s.
