Since I'm very interested in how rare a coin or note is, I would like to suggest that you don't have to go into the specifik coin/note page in order to see the Numista Rarity. Either you could sort your coins/notes by rarity on the list or the possibility to see the rarity on the list, like you can see KM#, diameter etc.? Or both?
I would just like it to be more easy to see (Numista) rarity, nothing about how valid the Numista rarity is. I know there are plenty of those discussion out there.

The rarity has no significant meaning, so no, it should NOT be shown. It only reflects how many numista owners have that specific type of coin. A coins year does NOT count at all, so you see, it
it's of no use..
Ole
I have to agree with Ole on this one. Numista's approximation of 'rarity' should be taken as a
novelty feature only. It's (as Ole puts it) a
generalization based
only on how many Numista members have a note/coin by series & does NOT take into consideration specific variations (eg: year, mint marks, or signature combo, prefix with banknotes -which is pretty much everything when you're a collector).
Also keep in mind that
BV (
Book
Value) isn't simply related to rarity. Popularity & World (particularly US) collector demand have a huge impact on how much people are willing to pay for any particular item.
