France 10 Francs (KM#908 and KM#909) - shall we merge the two listings into a single coin type?

Pubblicazioni di 8
Hello, I suggest merging the following two Numista entries 10 Francs (KM#908 and KM#909) into a single one due to the very minor difference between them (namely their thickness differs a little 1.60 mm and 1.74 mm correspondingly). It seems that this way it would be more logical and sound. What do you think?

The same issue also applies to:
- 1 Franc KM# 885a (heavy and light types)
- 1 Franc, Vichy French State KM# 902 (heavy and light types)
- 20 Francs (KM# 847 and KM# 857)
- 20 Francs (KM# 916 and KM# 917)

Best regards, Alex

See the attached screenshot

I'd say if they have different KM# keep them separate. Just my 2c.
They should be separate.

They are minor differences of course, but they are technically two different types. There is also a difference in the size of the heads and lettering.

Ok, it seems that you are absolutely right, then let's leave it as it is, thank you

I strongly vote for merging these two coin types!
Yes, KMs are different, but we all know that World Coins isn't perfect.
There are many examples in the catalog when coin types with larger differences are merged:

1) Cuban centavos with lettering "PATRIA Y LIBERTAD" / "PATRIA O MUERTE":

2) Various Cyprus sents with different design, like this:

3) Czech 20 Haleru:

There are much more examples.
Yes, these French light type and heavy type coins have differences. But are they really so different, if I have to take a magnifying glass to find out?

P.S. I also vote for merging these coin subtypes:
1) Finland Euro cents with and without mintmarks.
2) Ukraine subtypes of 10, 25, 50 kopiyoks, 1 hryvnya.
For now I've marked these types as unwanted.

I urge the Numista community to express its opinion.
Well, this seems to be a bit different. I think when the "major" part of the KM number is different those should be different entries in Numista catalog, e.g. KM#847 and KM#857. But when a coin has the "secondary" number, e.g. KM#33.1 and KM#33.2, they can (not necessarily should) be merged into a single entry. Yes, the difference between KM#33.1 and KM#33.2 can be bigger then the difference between KM#847 and KM#857 but having them as separate entries based on the KM# will avoid any confusion.

So we're dependent on World Coins mistakes, aren't we?
