Hello,
I think that post selling coins in (Swaps and trades) should be open to all Numista users, and post saying trade or sell within X country, should be banned (Or create other forum category for restricted shipping).

I thought that one of the beauty of Numista was international swapping of coins due the different availability of some coins in some geographical areas over others, I understand why they want to sell only within a country, but it don't feels right in the context of Numista.

Anyway is a small matter, just an idea.

Simply absurd.
Usually, the restriction 'USA only' or 'Europe only' is made because of the staggering postage fees in many countries, which makes it unattractive to do small international (or even small national swaps), or sometimes, to even do swaps at all.

I don't suspect any nationalist or racist motivation in the members that state this restriction.
I wish everyone a nice day and especially health.

Colleague, this is not discrimination, it is seriously fate and a deteriorating situation for us that we are interested in changing coins, especially the postal tracking service.
I also bear it hard when I miss a few cents in my collection from the USA, However, I understand friends that give $ 30 to $ 40 for tracking mail and send me 5 pieces of 1 cent 1987 coins, it's nonsense.
I also haven't changed for a long time for these reasons example: I have piles of Prague groschen 14th century- however, the mail is still at the same price like coins sending it is unprofitable for me , and especially for that on the other hand.

For our hobbies, the cost of costs outside the country is high , it happened a few years ago a rule change. And in connection with today's situation, when my consignment in the USA did not move for the second week in a row when they let it ripen and destroy the viruses somewhere in the halls at customs is just such a time that I'm afraid it will be even worse.
So really not colleagues are just thinking them rationally.

The "discrimination" arises because the prices for shipping are very different. You can consider it to be a discrimination as well when people say "registered" mail only (I personally highly dislike it, many times I didn't start a swap because of these, but it is a choice of people, I respect it).

When sending from the US abroad the minimum price for shipping with a tracking number is $49. If you send it from many other countries it will cost you $3-10.

If a swap can justify for me the shipping cost, I would swap. I did many international swaps from US but all of them were done by regular mail.

In addition, a lot of people don't want to take risk sending coins without the tracking number, that is why they simply prefer not to do it.

I am sure if you said, "I am ok giving you extra in coins or paying extra $50-60", those people would try to send you the coins internationally.
Yes i get it, that cost are crazy

But i was more referring to selling post, where people could advertise the coins they selling and display different prices.
e.g. Within USA free, overseas 50$

Maybe it is better, agree.

But probably people don't want to even bother since they know nobody will be paying that much.

People are different everywhere, think differently, so don't take it personal. If a person does not want to swap/sell, just try to find someone else who is willing. Not all initiated swaps are successfully confirmed, there is a lot of room for disagreements. But in the end of the day some swaps are confirmed and it is great.

No. The seller was simply stating that the total value of the coins needed to be a $50 minimum value to justify FREE SHIPPNG from the U.S. to Canada. Canada is not overseas from the U.S. Please stop misrepresenting the circumstances to suit your ridiculous "discrimination" claim.
Err, no, i was not referring to the specific seller,

I was saying when somebody is selling not swapping they could state different shipping prices,

Maybe this is less confusing. For a seller In France he could say
Shipping EU 5$
Overseas 40$

PS, I thing discriminating was the wrong word to put in the title, anyway was just a suggestion, i wasn't offended of feeling an unjust or prejudicial distinction in the treatment,

Anyway forget it :P
The problem is you are offending others here and disparaging a good member. Frankly I could care less if facts offend you. Just stop with your nonsense already and after looking at your profile, here is another Numista rule I suggest you become familiar with. https://en.numista.com/forum/topic70991.html
