Would it make sense to create a new forum section for the Exonumia catalogue?
Former Numista referee for banknotes from Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Saint Helena.
Agreed! been a long time coming. Also think the banknote section should be renamed to Banknote questions to align it with the numismatic questions section as that has the same purpose but for coins.
Make sense!

Well, then Numismatic questions should be changed to Coin questions, if only questions about coins are allowed in the Numismatic questions forum. I mean, banknotes and tokens are also numismatic.

I disagree, because this thread is about Exonumia catalogue new Forum, for the rest it should stay the way it is. Because for identification or even for news the line between coin tokesn or others is tight by example many set have a mint token included. The primitive coins are in Exonumia. So I support the idea to have a forum to correct things in the Exonumia catalogue.

I disagree,
You can't quote two people who doesn't agree with each other and say "I disagree". You disagree with who? The one who wants to seperate, or tve one who thinks separation is a bad idea?

It's with this sentence that I don't agree:

I thought it was clear enought but let's try another way:

I support the creation of a new Exonumia catalogue Forum as we have a Numista coin catalog Forum and a Numista banknote catalog Forum.
I don't support the creation of others Exonumia Forum as topics related to Exonumia items can belong to the following forums:

Numismatic questions
Coin identifications and valuations
Swaps and trades
Banknotes

It wasn't, since you had included peterjhalford's quote as well, which I don't agree with either. So, did you diagree with my disagreeing, or did you agree my disagreeing? ;)

What I meant was that if "Numismatic question" only allowed questions about coins, and a separate "Banknotes questions" were to be created, then we would have to rename the already existing one, as well as creating another one for exonumia, since "numismatic" is both coins, banknotes and tokens (hence, a bad idea).

So to include both quotes and say that you dusagree, was as far from clear as you could get. I hope I made myself clearer now. :D

I still have to request the creation of some Mint for Exonumia and as the only way to do it right now is to do it by the coin catalogue Forum, people that are only collecting coins start to wonder why I want the creation of all these strange mints. So I fully support the creation of an "Numista Exonumia catalogue"

Hello,

Stratocaster made a good point here:

Hello,

I am not sure the Coin / Banknote / Exonumia catalogue sections should be split. Questions regarding currencies, issuers, mints, engravers, etc. concern at least two if not all sections. Indeed, discussions on signatures and mints would be mixed, but I think it would also keep things easier to access. Maybe these three sections could be grouped under General > Numista catalogue

It's natural to request a forum section for the exonumia catalogue if we have one for the banknote catalogue, but do we really need to have 3 different sections, knowing that a fair number of topics impact more than one catalogue?

I like the new lay-out, for me it's an improvement if the members keep the subjects a part…

Ah, so it is, and I thought I had a strange perception of reality. That I'm the only one who sees it that way. We'll get used to it, and time will tell.
