Please remove Confederate States of America from the United States of America catalog and make it its own country again.
The CSA never was and never will be part of the USA. Those states seceded from the US and created their own country with their own government.
The CSA should not be part of the USA catalog or an issuer under the USA, but it's own country on the country list.
There are a few places in the catalog that should receive this same status. Hawai'i was an Independent kingdom and the US went out of their way to melt almost all the money from it. Newfoundland did not join Canada until 1949. Biafra, Katanga, etc. Being part of a different country now is seemingly the only criterion for what's a country, which is very flawed logic.
Tovarich, those other places you mentioned are now part of the country they are recorded as issuers for. The CSA is not part of the USA. Its like listing Spain in the French catalog.
The area it encompassed is. The independent kingdom of Hawai'i is not part of the US either because it is no longer an independent kingdom. The area of Hawai'i is now part of the US. The area of Newfoundland is now part of Canada, the area of Biafra is now part of Nigeria. The area of Katanga is now part of Congo. I don't view it any differently than the area of Alabama was part of the Confederacy and is now part of the US. But we can agree to disagree on the phrasing if you like. I think all those places should be countries because they used to be countries and I find it irrelevant what current country the former country is a part of now.
