Exonumia all together - where are we now?

Hi

Lets stir up some trouble, as it is needed...

Is something profound going to be done over Exonumia section? As andrewdotcoza already pointed out over "Currency" field (https://en.numista.com/forum/topic108186.html), the new setting it is not adjusted to the old one. This is very explicit when selecting a user defined collection. The old entries are not properly organized (I thought that this will be done by the "Robot" or someone else), hence all new entries are not properly aligned. I know that Cyrillius stepped down, but still - we are not moving anywhere right now, or am I missing something here (besides this https://en.numista.com/forum/topic109461.html and links to guidelines)?

I get some hits in one of my collections like this:

Its really awkward having your collection split literally in two, needless to say, that sorting Exonumia with terms of coins and notes is also somewhat strange:

Ruling authority is connected to currency. In "the old" system there was a clear distinction between types. Right now, for Exonumia you can only add values intended for legal tender coins and notes:

Am I suppose to add to all those unspecified tokens Currency which was meant for legal tender?

Current situation (specifically with regard to displays of my Exonumia collections):
  • "Face value" option is not quite consistent with Exonumia. Most of Exonumia are not about face value.
  • "Ruling authority" option is also not optimal and could probably be added by Robot. Currency also does not help, since at the moment it is "tuned in" for coins and notes and NOT for Exonumia.
  • Sorting by "Type" option throws everything together, without Exonumia being split further down along the type. Additional level is needed.
  • "Reference" is the only one currently truly of use, but also has limited use, as user cannot select to display only the pieces of single Reference. If some reference is on second position, then this display is limited. Truly not user friendly - more like really unfriendly.
  • "Date" option is to some extent not very useful as probably 90% of Exonumia have got no date attached. But still its OK to have it and it is good that it is at the bottom of the choices.

I would also like to point out, that tokens should need an extra level of separation on "Ruling authority" field in the case of states with federal system. See: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic108154.html. This extra level of separation is probably useful only with Exonumia. I am sure that many collectors from Russia and US and other federal states (and from everywhere else as far as I am concerned) would love to see how much coins for instance they have from Alabama or Tajikistan (currently you cannot add a token to Tajikistan as federal state from Soviet era).

I really hope we can soon move forward, as I am holding my self back at the moment with adding new entries...

Best regards to all!
Have a nice day and greetings to colleagues.

So yes ,,Lets stir up some trouble,,

No , no. It takes time and gradually repair and repair what robot -or imperfection , error, ignorance. Gradually, it will definitely improve and improve.
I will give an example:

Maybe everywhere , ethics , morality he pays attention to principles-(there are exceptions port and bars in Yokohama in the port)
Perhaps only a robot can create this section:
The girls complained from Yokohama, The two go together but the first to be with them is rude, , Personally, I don't mind, I'm more laughing , however, members of morality may resign us.

There are other examples :Medieval lands of the "Slavs"-unknown country however, it is very personal, I will not discuss it here and others.

It really takes time and finding the right one and making proposals; and gradually finding the best and acceptable setting. There are different views of the historical context that cannot be revealed immediately. But to do a piece of honest work-and it is already effort and work visibly.
