there is already a feature to sort your search by reference. Is it possible to also choose by which reference to sort? It seems to just sort by the first reference that's entered in the coin page. So it gets messed up when the reference order is switched for certain coins. Or when you want to sort by a secondary reference, you don't have the ability to do so.
It would be nice to implement that or tell me how to do it when I just missed the feature yet.
Sadly I think its sorted by Krause in the first instance as I think thats how Xavier has coded it...I support this idea as for the UK SPINKS is a better reference to sort by.
It's not sorted by Krause, as you can see here for example when you sort it by reference.
As I said, I'm pretty sure it just sorts by the first reference on each coin page. Firstly the reference alphabetically (maybe?) and then the number.
I'm pushing this up again because I still think this feature would be very useful and some other people voted in favor of it too. You could go systematically through an issuer and look for missing coins in the numista catalog this way.
I don't know if that's pushing it too much, but it would come in handy when references like Davenport could be made into an extra combined search because a lot of coins are mislabeled between the Davenport references. I don't know where to put them myself most of the time too.

I'm amongst those against it. Who's Davenport?
You don't have to use it. It would be a sort filter
I would like to bring this topic up again. A bit of a change I think would be helpful is if I pull up R. S. Yeoman (6th edition, my first book in 1976) in a search like this for China then it becomes the primary and everything is listed in order to that reference alone. If nothing is selected then it reverts back to the first reference listed.
Seems like a logical idea since the ability to search by certain references is available.
It is already possible, by setting a catalogue code in the search field and a star in the number field, see here for example (sorted correctly by nouchy codes, whatever its position in the list of catalogues attached to each coin)

Just to point out, the sorting is by issuer first, and only reference second. See for Delmonte as an example.
In the example I provided I did as you suggest in your search. But in regard to your search, is it sorted by page number first? Which list the page number 280 before page number 171. Or is it sorted by number which has #12 last and number #26 first? Either way it is not sorted using the reference in your example or mine.

No it always sort by order of numbers appearing first in the field.
I dont understand your issue it works well on my end
