I guess it is the supply in demand theory. Even though there is no supply I guess there is also no demand for it. I see you have one for trade. Are you interested in swapping. There now there is a demand for it.
Collecting World Coins 13th Edition by Cuhaj has the same mintages listed. This seems very strange. I expect it may require 000 after the 1765 to make 1,765,000 mintage. This is just a theory but I will research further before buying.
I've been doing a little research on the interwebs and found a most interesting post by a collector of Peruvian coins who lists the mintages for this series as "unknown".
The plot thickens......
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.

The coin has a Numista Rarity index of 53. The home page says there are 20867 members on Numista. So can I assume there are 20867*(100-53)%=9807 members on Numista that have the coin?
Looks like we have a dominating control over its entire mintage! World collectors, bow in front of the knees of Numistinator!!!!

I believe the rarity index works somehow different. For example, when only one member has a particular coin, it drops from 100 to 97 immediately. On the other hand, at some point (say, index is 10) even 100 entries hardly can move it further down. Am I correct, Numista mathematicians/statisticians?
I collect coins and tokens which circulated in Africa from 18th century to 2000. I sell about 7000 illustrated world coins from http://www.avscoins.com.

I wonder if Xavier would ever reveal the algorithm. If your observations are correct it sounds like the index follows a log scale curve.
On 31-Dec-2011 the Rarity Index first started, and that Topic explains a bit about it.
Thank you ZacUK, this is extremely helpful!
Just like Google's page rank, obviously he can't disclose finer details of the algorithms, for otherwise scammers might study it and figure out ways to manipulate the index. But just to paste the initial algorithm here (it has almost certainly changed since):
The recipe of the index is based on the following ingredients:
- number of coins claimed by the members
- number of members claiming to own the coin
- number of coins available for swap
- number of members offering the coin for swap
This is correct. And Ebay is a fairly good indicator on how rare a coin is.. I have coins on my shopping list with mintage of 30,000 that cannot even be found on Ebay (past or present) and I only know of one anywhere.. And the owner will not sell it to me for less than 3 times its Krause value !!! So for this one to sit un noticed on Ebay is strange.
