Realize if tags become overly specific they become basically useless. If I have a banknote with a "building" on it and use that tag to search for my banknote I won't get a hit if whoever entered that banknote used "Station" as the tag. Similarly, if a banknote depicts a "technology" theme, why would anyone search "media formats" for it? If the exercise is to create as many sub and sub-sub categories that no one would ever think to search for then you're doing a good job.

Also, I agree with rsirian1. Keep the tags simple. Too detailed and noone will find what they're looking for.
You know the “anti Vax” people some might be on here. I understand about some of the tags such a the ones listed underneath technology but does tanks and tractors fit under car? Or helicopters an gliders as plane?

I agree this is a grey area. Maybe vehicles could be used for both cars and motorcycles, and tanks, etc. could be under a military tag.
Planes and helicopters could be two different tags, since we have train as a seperate tag.
Personally I think it's difficult with tags. Either you have big groups, like mentioned above, or you have a lot of specific tags. Let's say a person collects coins/banknotes with tractor motifs. To search for the tag "vehicles" will give a lot of uninteresting hits, such as lorries, cars, and motorcycles, etc. as well. So it's a difficult decision the Numista Team will have to make. How exact, how narrow, should the tags be.

I understand now, I assume it depends on person to person what is appropriate and what is too specific. Plus maybe one tag would be more widely used than the rest such as Socialist state emblems.
Also I’m leaving the tags as is so when the Numista team sees this tread and the tags they can choose which ones will be used.

That’s what I did when I was editing tags on a few England banknotes and it got rejected due to the referee questioning the use of “other building” for the Bank of England which is depicted on this note.
