Hi,

I just got my first coin with a Berber year from the Berber calendar. 100 dinar ah1440, ad2018, Berber 2968.

Here the coin: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces162566.html

From Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berber_calendar#:~:text=El%20Azara%20%28Arabic%3A%20%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B2%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%A9%20%E2%80%8E%29%20is%20the%20period,known%20by%20a%20climate%20sometimes%20hot%2C%20sometimes%20cold.

Starting from the 1960s, however, on the initiative of the Académie Berbère of Paris, some Berbers have begun computing the years starting from 950 BC, the approximate date of the rising into power of the first Libyan Pharaoh in Egypt, Shoshenq I, whom they identified as the first prominent Berber in history (he is recorded as being of Libyan origin).[16] For example, the Gregorian year 2021 corresponds to the 2971st year of the Berber calendar.
This innovation has been adopted with conviction by many supporters of the Berber culture and is now a part of the cultural heritage of this people, fully integrated in the system of traditional customs related the North-African calendar.

That's OK with me, since it's also missing in our date systems documentations.

Just like harryg's request to add in Numisdoc the help for identifying nepalese numerals, may you include too in Numisdoc this help for identifying old indian numerals ?

I'll open a new thread for the Nepali calendar.

You'll have to open a thread for the old Indian numbers, please.

Hello,
I'm not sure whether the request is to add the Berber calendar to Numisdoc or to the calendar options in the coin catalogue.
If it's for Numisdoc, I'll close the topic, since Numisdoc was closed.
If it's for the catalogue, I'm not sure it's needed. The catalogue currently allows to list only one calendar. Are there coins with the Berber year represented as the primary year on a coin?
