Could be due that that coin came out the same year as South Sudans currency and due to the reason that the area before they declared independence used to use the past notes and coins. For example I own a soviet coin all of the post soviet states (eg Lithuania, Latvia,Belarus,Turkmenistan etc) are highlighted because in the past they used the same currency.
Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.

Hello,

This is a limitation of the map functionality, for which I don't have a solution.

Both (North) Sudan and South Sudan will be coloured if you own a coin from (North) Sudan, independently of whether it was minted before or after the split of South Sudan in 2011.

The same holds true for West German coins, which will colour both West and East Germany, even if minted before the unification.

And more generally, the map is inaccurate for every country which borders varied along history.

Ideas related to adapting the map to the various time periods are discussed here and here.

Yes, that's indeed a thing, I complain a lot about, trying to fuse everything together is not logical at all!
