No Exonumia discussion and advice needed.

I don't primarily collect exonumia but do noodle some pieces and purchase the odd piece that catches my eye. It has reached the point that I'd like to start cataloguing what I have. From what I can see, the exonumia section is a bit haphazard which I can understand given the wide ranging nature. I thought I might post in the Exonumia section to get some advice but was surprised to see there is no froum subsection for exonumia. Can this be added?

The piece I have is a Niagara Grape & Wine Festival 1970 medallion (or souvenir medal?).

From an exomunia perspective, what criteria are used to classify medals, medallions and tokens?
I'm guessing this would fall under Souvenir medals - Event Souvenir - Canada

​As long is was given (sold) as souvenir you are right. If it had have any payment funktion it was primarly a business or Deposit Token.

For me this goes in Commemorative medals
Event medals.

Souvenir medals should actually be for touristical souvenirs such as the Monnaie De Paris Tokens that you can get at touristical sites or could also be elongated pennies.

Unfortunatelly on Numista we often have this misunderstanding between Commemorative medal and souvenir medal.

Definitely a Commemorative - Event Medal under Canada.

If this medal was given out as a reward in some kind of competition, I would rather place it under "Industrial or agricultural award".
