Hi,
a change request from me was rejected today and I don't know why. The reason was "France / Duché de Bretagne. en français SVP" where I have no idea what that even means. I would ask the referee personally, but after I wrote my request in English and got a French answer, even tho the referee claims to speak English in the profile, I assume that's a lie. And I had bad experiences so far with such language barriers.

I just modified this coin after I found this auction. It even has the same mint letter. Am I missing something or is this the same coin type?
Also, all I modified was the obverse and reverse description that is completely missing, the reverse lettering where "MEVM IN" is missing between "ADIUTORIUM" and "TANDA", as well as the Fr reference number from the auction site. That last one I can understand when it really is a different coin. But everything got rejected. And I didn't even touch the ruler or date range.

So can someone explain to me what I'm missing here? I don't want to jump to conclusions too fast, but this just fits so perfectly into my growing list of useless referees I met so far.
On which site did you make the CR, the French or the English? If you made it on the English, the referee should never have asked you to do it "in French, please".

On the English site I see this for France:

Numista referee for coins of this issuer is Florino28, Quiquengrogne.

Both seem to be only French speakers.....

Good luck

I never set a foot into the french Numista site.

Also, the referee was neither of the two. You can look for yourself who the other designated referee for this specific issuer is if you're interested.
Strange, no referee is given!!!!

Try to send a PM to Jarcek to ask him, who communicated with you?

Did he sign your refusal, can you send a screenshot of it, please?

I don't know what you're looking at, but I clearly see 2 referees for Duchy of Brittany

That's a search not a country list.

As far as I know, you can't see the referees when you don't set an issuer ... obviously.
Thanks, I learned something again;)

So has anyone something to say about the true topic after that's been dealt with now? :P
There is also an English speaking referee for Brittany, per the list of referees in Numisdoc. I agree with the comment upthread that it sounds like some misunderstanding in the English vs French version of the site.

Let's see what happens with the 23 new listings and 20 additional modifications I just submitted for Feudal France (in English).

Good luck with that. I have open requests from October for Feudal France.

And that "English-speaking" referee is only there for Brittany, not for Feudal France anyways. And as I already said, that "English-speaking" referee was the one responding in French to my English request.

I also have other fun stories with these only French-speaking referees, but I will keep them to myself. Maybe I will post a huge list with all the incompetent referees on here with names when I finally lose my temper and leave. We will see.
I shall have a look. I got the same response for some of my own requests.

If there were ever a desire to have co-referees in Feudal France, I might be able to help with Lorraine. Someone can look at what I have already contributed there, and what I have pending.
So what happened with this?
Because I sometimes get the feeling that it's completely acceptable that certain referees are actively sabotaging the catalog.
When it comes to France, you aren't alone in feeling that.
