Coin curators- good job with use of tags! Banknote folks, not so much, lol.

New guy here (new to collecting and the website)!

Spent the past two days updating the notes and coins I am personally familiar with to include tags that reflect the type of wildlife appearing on the items.

I have found that 90% of the coins I viewed already had this done, but the same could only be said of less than about 10% of the notes I saw.

Thanks to those that include these!! I am now combing through the entire collection of notes on the website to update the tags for any items that feature reptiles and amphibians. Tedious work, to be sure.

Every time you take a moment to include tags in your pages- you are saving others a lot of search time and making the catalog immensely more accessible. Good job for those that do so! Thanks again!

As banknotes are a very recent feature on numista, there is still a lot of work being done building up the catalogue, which explains the difference you noticed.

But indeed every time someone comes along with a specific interest (mine is animals and plants on circulation coins), more information gets added ... one small step at a time. So thanks a lot for your contribution! :wiz:

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!
Happy to help. This site is a great boon to the hobby.

In retrospect, I probably added a few tags where the animal wasn't actually the main theme (which I later noticed is frowned upon, sorry).

I wonder if the admins would consider adding secondary tags. As a thematic collector, my desire is to locate all the numismatic items featuring my interest. Restricting the ability to search for items to only primary themes therefore greatly limits the utility of the database for those in my shoes. Having a secondary/other dataset that was allowed to tag any element would meet this need.

Hi
One way you could achieve this is see "Settings/My collections/" and add a new collection. Then you have to add each piece separately to this collection.

I do that but it doesn't help when searching for new items. I have been manually looking through the catalog country by country to find new items and let me tell you that is the hard way, lol.
