Pobjoy mint page: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/mint.php?id=26

The standard mint mark is just letters, but they had a special PMM script mintmark for 2000 issue coins. It was celebrating "both Pobjoy Mint and the Millennium" (according to some release from the mint).

Pobjoy Mint also uses die letters as well as the 'PM' mintmark.

Yep, and those badly-name die letters do have a script as well.

(Badly named because they don't identify a die. They are letters on a die, but the legend text "ISLE OF MAN" is also letters on a die. Pobjoy Mint calls them Die Marks and says they "appear on a coin in order to identify the die from which it was struck". The position of the die marks might identify the die if you measure closely enough, but the presence of the letters doesn't.)

I don't know of any source for the die marks to include on the page (if there is a place for them on the mint page). I refer to http://monnaiesetvarietes.freevar.com/FICHES/Ile%20de%20Man/ILE%20DE%20MAN.pdf . The Pobjoy Mint says "Hiberno-Norse style characters" but I haven't found an image on the web site.
The biggest problem with Pobjoy die marks is that the usage of them has changed over time.

The 1973 Isle of Man Sovereign:
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces35041.html
Uses a simple A, B, C sequence A being the least common from 1973, if you exclude the unique X mark.

With more complex AA, AB, BB two letter system introduced with the 1978 Isle of Man pound coins.
(but retaining single letters for precious metals)

The more recent Pobjoy coins, use die marks on just the Cupro-Nickel coins.

Using DA, DB for first/second run of Diamond Finish coins is common.
(but you can find AA, AB, AC on others)

Base mintmark added.

Do you have a coin in mind for the Millenium mark? Might help to find a High def pic of one of these.

Die marks: won't be added as these are not mintmarks.

Here you go;

My equipment has improved (and my abilities somewhat) since I created this topic. Here is an image and extract from a 2000 50 Pence.

Can this be marked unsolved until a PMM image is available or should I create a new topic and copy the PMM images?

That second M is very elongated in that example, and on this 20p the second M looks fat.

But most of the coins I've seen, the second M just looks like a lightning strike attached to the first M.

Thanks for these!

Both added now.

Thank you! I put in requests to add the images to a bunch of pages (and clear up some other issues I saw along the way).
