Reference catalogues and countries

We have 2.000 reference catalogues in Numista https://en.numista.com/catalogue/catalogues.php

When we add or modify a coin, banknote or exonumia, have to select the reference catalogue from a endlessly long list of 2000 elements.

I suggest that only the catalogs related to the country appear in the list. Similar to how it was done with currencies.

The initial relation between catalogues and countries can be based on the current use.

I would agree that it makes sense but just would like to add that there are also catalogues not only relating to a single country.

There are books on all:

Islamic Coins

Gold Coins of the World

Crusader States coins

etc.

There would need top be some kind of category/tag for each entry like general or world/all, specific countries, type coins, banknotes, exonumia.

JNDA for examplewould be : Coins, Banknotes, Japan, Japanese puppet states, Taiwan, Korea

This idea to improve Numista may be closed, because a recent development of Xavier makes it needless.
