This coin  N#188218  has the wrong starting Gregorian date which comes from the first date line.

As seen the first date (ND) has the Hijri sub dates (operator input) while the rest have the Hijri date automatically converted to the Gregorian dates.  Obviously the minimum Gregorian year is taken from that first line.  When editing the page I found that the only way to fix it was to put the Gregorian dates there even though the Hijri calendar is called out.

This, I think is counter-intuitive.

Edit: Something like this would solve future problems:

Thanks for pointing it out, and while I agree in principle, this was rather hidden “Undetermined” line. :) It got deleted.

Yep. I noticed that, too but figured it wasn't the only example of this.

Quick search, another one.  N#268867

and another  N#150132

I see someone already fixed these three pages 🙂

I added a mention about using the Gregorian calendar to avoid such mistakes in the future.

A.H. years are always shorter than A.D. years, which is why you will see an A.H. year with a different A.D. year.

This is the case with the Maldivian coins from 1960 through to the 1990's.

I could not find any Maldivian coin with a ND year line that caused this problem.  Which one are you referring to?

Here is the 50 Laari dated A.H. 1379 & 1960;

N#8263 .

Normally, we would say 1960 is A.H. 1380 - but because of the A.H. year being shorter, we have the slight mismatch.

Oh. OK.  That's a different problem, not really related to this post.
