Would it be possible to add additional information fields to series?
If I want to add information about a specific series of coins or banknotes, now the only option is to put in every separate page (which in not done according to the guidelines) of as a post in the forum (which kind of gets lost unless I again add the link to every separate page). When opening a certain series, a short text could appear at the top of the page to explain the background of the series.
Similar information could be added to countries, issuers, ruling authorities, … where we nog only have a wikidata link.

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!
My guess is that it would be complex to manage efficiently across issuers. Two examples:
one can have the same series name but existing for different issuers so different information ("Wildlife series", "Famous leaders series", etc.)
one can have one single series shared across several issuers - probably less common than the above but happens for various countries contracting with private mints to issue commemorative coinage.
We already have something similar for engravers and designers (a tooltip appears when you hover over the name) but centralized so easier to manage.
On the country/issuer side, it already exists. See example here at top with the text description. It is in place for a long time but not 100% complete.

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.
Having a database of series (like we have a database of banks or engravers for example) would not only allow to record additional information about a series, but it would also simplify translations.
name in the three languages of Numista (en, fr, es),
name in the original language,
description in the three languages of Numista (with text style, images...),
issuers/countries (this is need if you want filter series when a country is select; I think the best is that a series can have items from different issuers and types),
issuing entity,
years (gotten by searching the database what years have items of this series),
technical data fields (can be added if they are common to all items of the series).
links to pages of items of the series (gotten by searching the database what items have this series).
Note: We created the database of series based on existing series names and we started to manually clean up the database. It appears that some series were not migrated properly (see the bug report here). We are working on it.

Some months ago I added some series of exonumia objects, and I added the description (in English) in the comment fields of their pages. My descriptions includes images of the presentation of the series (box, booklet...).
I assume in the translation of description can be added HTML code in order to added list items and other basic formats, but I assume, again, here will can not be inserted images (or yes? for example insert them in the English side, and copying the code with same local URL when we translate to other languages).
If we can not insert images in descriptions, did you add a field image in the serie? (similar to image of reference catalogues).
