Exonumia - TC numbers by year

Pubblicazioni di 5 • visto 78 volte

I am trying to catalog my Chuck E Cheese tokens.  I have numerous years of identical tokens.

This is the numista page I am working with right now - N#96840

There are 2 TC numbers on this page: TC# 231205, TC# 231204

Each of the TC numbers link to a page on tokencatalog.com.   However, each of those pages only list one year. TC#231205 is for 2008 and TC#231204 is for 2007.

Is each TC number specific to the year a token was made?  If that is the case, should the numista page be updated to have the TC# listed in the “comment” section after each date?  I can input that request, I just want to make sure that my thought process is correct.

Is tokencatalog.com the source of the TC numbers, or does that website just use TC numbers which are assigned by a catalog or group somewhere?

Token Catalog is the source of TC#; sometimes a change is due to design or material differences too not only the year.

The Numista reference section cannot have more than 5 references; so if there are more than 5 references and these are consecutive, in the main reference field you can just input the range like this “231204-231209”. The link will redirect to the first page only (i.e. 231204) but it is understandable that the references for the variants are within the range mentioned.

The link system does not work in the mintage line section (at least for now) so you can input "TC# xxxxxx" as a text in the line comment.

Actually, don't put a range in the references. That breaks search.
For example, consider the Upper Alsace Thaler which is KLEM# 166-175. The range "166-175" was added to the references, which means if you search for KLEM# 166 you won't find anything.

The guidelines specify just listing the first catalog number for the range in the Reference section (“Do not use commas, hyphens or other notations for ranges.”), others go in comment field. That allows the coin to be found by searching Numista for at least that catalog number.

I didn't fix the Thaler I mentioned above. There are several ranges in the references to be fixed (and a huge number of listings in Numista specifying ranges).

But a search for KLEM# 166* works just fine, so does *175 but of course anything in between is not searchable.

Hey karrlot,

I myself worked a lot on the Chuck E Cheese tokens this weekend.  I'm currently awaiting about 8 listings to be approved.  Hopefully afterwards you will have a spot for almost all of them. 😁
