Art Medals, INC.

Englewood, Ohio (USA)

Mintmark: AMI

 

Very few information availlable online, seesm there were a distribution medal compagny under the name of Presidential Art Medals, INC. working with mint like Medallic Art Company before they start to mint by themselves.

 

Needed for this medal.

Added here, several medals assigned already.

 

Not much “legal” info but they struck various medals in the 70s and 80s.

They would also have struck a pewter “Leda and the Swan” medallion that would have been designed after a collaboration by Salvador Dali and Silver Creations Ltd.

Art Medals, Inc.  was founded in 1972 in Brookfield  CT  by Ray Ruete. 

He was the director of production for Medallic Art Co.

 

AMI was a full production facility making medals from design to final finishing.  Several key MACO employees moved to AMI to provide the skilled  craftsman that allowed it to make medals in the same style and quality as MACO.

 

Presidential Art Medals ( Englewood, OH) was one of their customers.

 

AMI produced  over 150  different medals during it's years in business. It closed in mid 1977.
