2,152 new users joined Numista in October 2022, increasing the total member tally by 1.1%.

In comparison, Numista added 1,968 new members in October 2021 and 1,892 new members in October 2020.

This October's new members added 136,000 coins into their collections, including one enterprising user who has already added 65,000 coins to their collection. 28% of new users appear to be active and 12% are not publicly visible.

2,109 of October's new members selected a nation.  116 nations are represented this month. 412 are American, 273 are French, 205 are British, 135 are Indian, and 95 are Canadian.

There were notable surges in memberships from Argentina, Australia, and the United Kingdom.  Two of these three are all English-speaking Commonwealth countries, so I suspect the membership surges have something to do with the end of Queen Elizabeth II coinage.

Aruba, Benin, British Virgin Islands, Burkina Faso, Cuba, Curacao, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Iceland, Isle of Man, Kosovo, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Luxembourg, Macau, Malta, Montenegro, Niger, North Korea, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Senegal, Sint Maarten, Sudan, Tanzania, Thailand, Vietnam and Yemen each gained one new member.

Germany passed Italy for 12th rank.

Of the top 30 nations, Morocco grew the fastest in October (2.6% increase), while Greece grew the slowest (0.5%). The USA grew by 1.1% and France grew by 1.0%.

User Participation rates for October (how many new users are actively cataloging coins):
65% Netherlands
47% UK, Czech Republic
46% Australia
43% Argentina, Ukraine
42% Brazil
38% Spain
36% Germany
35% Romania, France
34% Canada
31% Poland, USA
30% Italy
22% Mexico
21% India
19% Pakistan
13% South Africa
12% Philippines
11% Belgium
7% Indonesia
5% Morocco

Good statistics. Argentina is not part of the commonwealth and the user who added more than 65,000 coins/banknotes turns out its all banknotes except 7 coins so I must be another bogus account.

Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.

Great data! may I ask where to find this information?

I love coins... almost as much as I love cats. :)

It's where you live, which is counting as nationality, I guess? To be counted as a Dane, I would have to lie about where I live, am I right? I'll live until the end of my days in France, but my passport is still Danish!

Maybe we need to have a nationality field added in the profile?

I have edited the original post to correct this error.  Thanks for pointing it out.
