This is a military decoration, I don’t understand why it is in Numista.

 

We also call it the “Living and Breathing” Medal, because that’s all you needed to do to receive this award.  It was automatic if you were in the military during specific time periods. For my 26 years, 20 of those years were eligible for the NDSM (aka, Living and Breathing Medal)! Even Academy Cadets/Midshipmen got it.
