"Where's George 2 Dollar Bills Trading Game" Brought to you by xblamecanadax

Has anyone out there ever heard of a neat little website called, www. wheresgeorge.com? 😃

It is a fun little website that people use to track the travels of United States banknotes like 1- and 2-dollar bills.

The premise of the activity is that if you find a 1- or 2-dollar bill (usually with very clear markings or stamps on it) that says something along the lines of this: Track me at www. wheresgeorge.com or “Lucky Bill wheresgeorge. com”

Basically, you can register on the website and enter the serial number of the banknote or dollar bill that you have found out in the wild…

Then, you can just type a quick sentence or two saying where you found it…

For example, if I was at the grocery store and got this dollar bill in my change back to me :-D, I would input on the website something like,

“I got this in change from a grocery store in Bla (“city”, town, “bla” state)”

Once you enter your “little story” then you can go and spend it somewhere or send it off to someone else…

Then (hopefully) the next time someone receives the banknote, they will do the same and you can get an email alert that will tell you that someone else has found that same banknote and you can just see where it is now.

It’s trivial, but for coin and banknote nerds like us, it’s pretty cool lol!

Recently, I have found 3 of them all together.

So, I entered them into the website and I want to send them off somewhere to people.

What I would like to do is incorporate them into a trade with someone on Numista just for funnzies and then hopefully you will do the same and like pass it along to someone else in another trade…

It would be kinda neat to see just how far the banknotes actually go…

So, for example

  • I would like to send 1 to anybody that is interested in doing a trade with me somewhere in the United States.
  • 2, I would like to send one of the banknotes to someone trusted that I have traded with in the past on Numista.
  • And 3, I would REALLY love to send one abroad…Or maybe 😍 Canada 😍, England, France perhaps, ect.  I’ve never completed an international trade on the website, so this would be kind of cool for me to do to on the side for one of my goals on this website…

Of course, there really isn’t anything special about these banknotes either.

They are just “general circulation banknotes” with no unique serial numbers or anything like that…
It’s just a fun stupid little idea that I’ve come up with for some fun in the great big stupid world we live in lol!

Let me know what you think or if anyone out there is even interested.

I will probably respond in the comments below in the next week or so if there is even any interest or not.

Winter is coming and it’s something silly to do with coins / banknotes basically…

As far as organizing a trade.

I'd be willing to trade one 2 dollar bill for something of equal value.

I'm still reorganizing my lists so be patient.

Plus it would be cool to also do a proper coin trade too at the same time!

If anyone out there is interested, please send me a message and perhaps we can sort out a trade! 😀

Have a good day!

I am starting to trade again please
Open to trades with members in the United States and Canada at this time
Please help me find Canadian Coins for my collection!!!

Yes, I have one - $1 1999. It came from a collector back in 2004 from Cameron NC as gift. Since then, I recorded the where about this note. I just re entered the serial nos onto the site again - wheresgeorge.com, and it's still there. After almost 20 years, this $1 note is going no where.
