delay for adding new coins? [Risolto]

first - as always - my apologies if this topic has already been handled somewhere and I was not able to locate it…

I realized that recently there seems to be a delay for new coins to be added, this for quite frequented countries, e.g. the Austrian 5 EUR Democracy or the 3 new San Marino 10 EUR lunars coin, both issued in October 2022 and still missing. Also the new Kazakstan set of 100 tenge from 2022 is missing, Gibraltar Christmas 2022 50 pence + 2 pounds + a few more

I have been owning these coins since months and probably I am not the only one - and it is not coins from some obscure islands… 

Of course I can try to add them to the database - even though my photographic capabilities are somewhat limited and it would not look that nice.

But - and that is the reason for this post - have these coins really never been reported or are they somewhere in the process of being approved and there is just a major delay? I do not want to create more traffic on the site by sending new coins that are already on the way.

Possibly also that fellow collectors who entered such new coins in the past, simply do not do it anymore…

If referees have such a huge backlog, then it's their problem to deal with it. Also, if everything thinks like you, these coins will never be added.

So just add them.

Also, you don't have to take your own pictures of some of these. For example, the Münze Österreich AG is a usable picture source for Numista.

Hi,

We are a participative catalog build by users for users, coins are not showing up by magic ;-)

If you own a coin that is currently not in the catalog don't worry and feels free to add it, others users will improve the pictures when needed and fill in missing information if you were not capable to place everything.

Give it a try, you'll see it's that easy :-)

ok, thank you for your valuable responses… Obviously my motivation for asking did not quite become transparent, as I get blamed for taking things for granted or for free - whereas the opposite is the case.

Anyway, I will close this thread as solved and see to add the coins I have, hoping that these coins are not in the pipe several times already just waiting for approval.
