Hi,

I suggest splitting the following two banknotes into two separate Numista entries which are now merged into a single entry.

Reason: their color difference is very eye-catching and easily determined/noticeable thus making them two distinct banknote types (the same approach is adopted by Pick World Paper Money Catalog)

P#190 5 Piastres - BLUE

P#190A 5 Piastres - BROWN

So this single entry 5 Piastres Signature Hassanein should be separated into two separate entries P#190 and P#190A with corresponding titles like: P#190 5 Piastres (2002, Blue Color ) and 5 Piastres (2002-2006, Bown Color).

It would be okay to keep both sub-types within a single entry if their difference was minimal and not so eye-catching, but both banknotes have quite distinct different colors.

Best regards,

Alex

The difference seems to me to be a lot smaller than you suggest. P#190A are not brown, they are just a darker shade of grey than P#190. If we split these, I would recommend combining P#188 with P#190, as these appear to be the same colour.

Hello,

The color difference does not warrant splitting P#190 and may cause confusion and see no benefit in combining P#188 with P#190

Best regards

Hi,

BLUE and BROWN colors cannot be mixed, they are totally distinct, they are not even shades of the same color. So I do insist on splitting based on the arguments mentioned above in the thread.

Thank you!

Hi,

Please provide a picture of the brown color as I have been unable to find any.

Thanks

Hi,

you can see it here and compare to see the difference:

BROWN: https://colnect.com/en/banknotes/banknote/113914-5_Piastres-2002-2006_Issue-Egypt

Thank you!!!

Hi,

Thanks for the images, the only difference in my opinion is that one of the notes is pail , I do not see any brown.

Thanks.

Well, the case is not in paleness but rather the different colors, e.g. look at the pharao portraits (blue vs brown):
