Who had the great idea to move this: https://en.numista.com/vous/vos_pieces.php?ct=coin&issuer=eckartsberga_notgeld&swap=1 to coins, and why? These are made from paper, not even cardboard.

That link is not viewable by members - only you.

Everyone can view it but unless you own the particular item it's relatively useless.

Is there an answer to this? Just because they are round? What would you fill in the manufacturing technique field, printed???? Printed coins? What about edge and mint?? If we follow the shape logic I guess this should be moved to banknotes because they are rectangular

Hi Allexis, I completely agree with you, but it seems that there have been people who are not. I'll give you the link of the topic where this topic has been discussed.

The decision that was made is that the circular pieces of cardboard (considered rigid material) are coins and the rectangular pieces of cardboard (maybe then considered nor so rigid) are banknotes.

For the rest of the materials, if they are flexible (like paper), are all banknotes and if they are rigid, they are all coins. At no time have issues such as the manufacturing process (minting or printing), the edge, etc... been taken into account.

Those photos are my own, I added the banknotes to the catalogue and I can clearly say that all of them are made out of paper. Who changed the category did ZERO research!

Any news on this???

Just being pedantic - I believe that most banknotes were/are made from a cotton mix, not plain paper.  Of course, that is beginning to change to a polymer plastic (BOPP) mix these days.
