Hello,

Is that really a banknote?

The text is not what you expect to see on a banknote from my understanding.

Always look on the bright side of life!

My French is very rusty, and this is not a good quality image - however, I do not see any reference to a bearer on this note. As such, imho, it is not a banknote as it is not payable to a bearer other than the named individual.

The bearer is Mr Pujol Léopold , no?

Indeed, that is the named individual. As far as I understand, to be transferable, the item would need to be be payable to Mr. Mr Pujol Léopold, or bearer. This makes the note payable to the named person, or anyone else.

In Ireland or Uk a cheque made payable to bearer is currency - thus a bank in Ireland or Uk is not permitted to issue a bank draft (cashier’s cheque) made payable to the ‘bearer’ as this would be a currency, ‘promise to pay the bearer on denamd’.

It is in exonumia, so I suspect this was resolved.

Looks like a cheque to me.
