Hello

Currently there are 11 mints in Egypt in the catalogue, In attempt to find the difference between them I found the following after a quick research that I will continue to work on.

Mints To be removed :
al-Maghrib, modern-day Cairo, Egypt

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/mint.php?id=3034

No coins are registered to it and need to be removed as it does not represent any mint currently and even the wiki page is related to Egypt.

Kahire, modern-day Cairo, Egypt

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/mint.php?id=1697

No coins are registered to it and need to be removed as it does not represent any mint. i.e. Kahire is how Cairo is pronounced in Arabic language.

Hello Following on the previous post regarding the current modern Mint for Egyptian coins

I found that, Currently on the Numista Catalogue Cairo, Egypt - which is basically the Country name and its Capital -  in the mint page  <https://en.numista.com/catalogue/mint.php?id=1323>; with exception of some coins, most of the registered coins are actually minted by the Egyptian mint Authority, therefore I personally suggested that we edit this page rather than starting a new one with the following information  if that is possible to minimize the changes done to the catalogue.

Official Mint Name in English : Egyptian Mint Authority
Official Mint Name in Arabic    : مصلحة سك العملة المصرية
Location (English)                 : Cairo              /   Egypt
Location (French)                  : Caire              /   Egypte
Location (Spanish)               : El Cairo           /   Egipto
Location (Arabic - Local )   : القاهرة ( Al-Kahira ) /   مصر ( Misr )  - <The words in brackets are actually how pronounce the word in Arabic>
GPS latitude and longitude Co: 30.05639151081181, 31.27269221708397-  <This is from google, the website online tool mentioned did not work.>
Operation Dates              : 1954 - to Date
Official Website            : http://www.egyptmint.gov.eg/

A brief introduction and details about the mint :

In 1950 AD, King Farouk decided that to cut the cost of minting abroad, Egypt should have its own Mint House thus giving a boost to the economy. A large area of land in Eastern Abbassia in Cairo was designated for the building of the Mint House. Law number 178 for the year 1950AD was passed allocating an extra credit line for the fiscal year 1950-1951 AD for the construction of the Mint House.
The construction was finished by the end of 1953AD that is after the revolution of July 23rd 1952AD and after the departure of King Farouk. The first production of the Mint House were the aluminum bronze Sphinx coins in denominations of 1 millieme, 5 millimes and 10 milliemes issued to public on the second anniversary of the revolution on July 23rd 1954 AD.

1 Millieme  - N#37500
5 Milliemes - N#19439
10 Milliemes - N#19187

The Mint House continuously minted Egyptian coins and took the task of minting coins for other Arab countries like Syria, Saudi Arabia and Yemen; its activity also included the minting of medals, decorations, seals and insignia.
