Is there a way to change your Username? If not, it would be nice if you could.
I think you must tell to Xavier.

Perhaps will be useful a short article in “FAQ” section?
It seems that is not possible:

I asked Xavier about it. He said it was impossible to change the username. It was in the middle of 2020.
Hello,
It is not possible to change usernames.
I published an article in the FAQ to make it clear.

Numista does not permit username changes.
The username of Numista members is crucial for identification on the platform, especially for forum participation, private messaging, and engaging in swaps. We have decided against allowing username changes because it could create confusion for other members with whom you have interacted in the past. By maintaining fixed usernames, we aim to foster a clear and stable community environment for all users.

Any chance the sign up page could include a 'no username changes' warning, and a link to that page?

To me it sounds a little weird. Take other platforms like, let's say Facebook, where you can change your name (for some reason), and all posts and messages you have ever sent will be under the new name. This way you might wonder “Who's Jangle-Bangle, and how does … it(?) know my name?”, but since everything written by this person has changed to the new name, it's easy to find out that Jangle-Bangle is in fact your mate Steve. So why wouldn't it work the same way here?
Because Numista is not a multibillion dollar spy-op with thousands of code monkies and doesn't manipulate its useres private messages etc.

…and doesn't manipulate its useres private messages etc.
Except it does every time a user changes their signature or avatar.
I understand both reasoning. I do not know how is saved the username in the tables of database (I know it has an ID number, but a copy of the username in text can be saved in messages for quickly queries, as SMF, or only the ID).
Perhaps can be said “this is not possible” in general but in certain cases allow changes (always done by an administrator).

Yes, exactly. I don't know if the username is treated differently in the coding (well, apparently it is), but it should work the sane way.
