About swapping

Currently I am in a swap, but there was some problems when I tried to send the coins abroad. Apparently the country of the person swapping with me has banned all foreign currencies sent by mail. What should I do in this situation?

Contact your swapping partner and cancel the swap.

Yeah, well … that's a problem. I wonder how the person in question could be unaware about such ban. What country is this? Russia?

Apparently France banned sending couns from Japan to France. I am not sure about other countries but I went to the post office yesterday to find out that they banned all currencies from being sent into the country by mail or packages.

Nearly every country doesn't allow the sending of money, meaning currently circulating currency (but often any kind of money gets hit by these laws).

You will have to get a bit creative, this can increase the chance of you losing your parcel but by how much I can't say.

Like Idolenz said - get creative. Pad it well and package securely.

At the 1st attempt did you declare the item as coins / currency.

There have been suggestions of calling the items

In these cases, I say “key chains, pins”.

I usually write “metal samples, different sizes”, and I've never had any issues.

For banknotes I have always used ‘Historical Papers’ or occasionally ‘Numismatic Papers’.
