Some people don't behave rationally on issues of confidentiality, and those who behave rationally have different circumstances and goals.

If any site allows fine grained sharing of information but forces some information to be shared there will be some person who objects to the decision. It's less hassle for a site to put the same options on all data (except where they have an important reason for the difference).

Je fabule et tente une explication.

Dernièrement, j'ai été hospitalisé, je ne désire qu'éviter que les gens avec qui j'ai fait des échanges s'apercoivent de mon absence prolongée et déduisent que, car ils connaissent mon adresse, c'est le bon moment de venir voler ma collection ou de vendre cette information à un réseau international de voleurs de monnaie de circulation (qui ne vaut que des clopinettes dans mon cas mais ça, le réseau ne le sait pas). 

On ne sait jamais à qui et à quoi peut servir l'information que l'on publie/affiche sur internet. Soyons prudent et laissons le choix à chacun de gérer ses données publiques.

This option means: Only me, nobody else.

If you do not want other user see your last login, this is the option.

I only consider the indication of the approximate date of last connection, it does not have the same purpose as the other options
In case of absence, it can be indicated for a temporary or extended period.
You can show or hide your collection(s)
Our address is known only by those to whom we have communicated it

Being the only one who can read the date of his last connection on his profile is absurd since you have to connect to learn that you have just connected… less than a week ago, that's obvious!
“between a week and a month”, “between a month and a year” are of interest to those who would like to contact us
“more than a year ago” becomes critical when it's been several years, with or without duplicates, with or without a collection, with or without any message on any forum. Some with collections and doubles are deceased, you can always send them a message

To preserve their server, some sites have an inactive account manager with several callback options, including:

"We would like to remind you that you have an action plan in place in case you stop using your account. Your action plan includes the following parameters:

15 months after your last activity, we will send a notification to the following coordinates '/email address/ - /telephone number/

I don't want to change it. It makes perfect sense to me as is but seems to confuse others as to its purpose.

Perhaps really you want to do a suggestion: Hide my approximate date of last connection to myself.

In this case how could I know the approximate date of my last connection? 

Huge dilemma!
Perhaps by having checked one of the other two options: “visible to all” or “visible only to members”  including me
