Is this copper-nickel coin? I just bought it, and it's magnetic.

N#19485

Cu-Ni is normally not magnetic. But mine is as well…. so I suppose the alloy is Fe-Ni or steel?

All the websites having “Libya 100 dirham 2009”  say Cu-Ni.

What about the 50 dirham from the same year? We have that as cupro-nickel too but is it also magnetic?

Going back 10 years….

Libya coins 2009

I only have the ½ dinar and both parts are definitely magnetic, consistent with what we currently have. The use of brass- and nickel-plated steel in this coin gives a clue as to what the lower denominations could be made of.

Well at least one of the 4 have been fixed in the last 10 years.  Ole, can you verify the ¼ Dinar (km30) is also magnetic?

Based on ½ Dinar - I updated other three coins. Given your research in this thread, I took calculated guess, because coins are magnetic. Now we have unbased and probably correct information instead of clearly wrong one, which is improvement IMHO.

A short comment on the uncertainty would seem appropriate. Perhaps:

The composition of this coin is stated in SCWC to be cupro-nickel. However, these coins are magnetic. The composition is therefore given here as nickel-plated steel but this has yet to be confirmed.

You are right, I just added that.
