2,895 new users joined Numista in May 2023, increasing the total member tally by 1.4%.  This is the highest monthly tally in Numista history, again!

This May's new members added 76,100 coins into their collections.  25% of May's new users appear to be active and 10% are not publicly visible.

2,822 of May's new members selected a nation.  516 are American, 313 are French, 222 are Indian, 197 are British, 118 are Canadian, and 114 are Filipino.  136 nations are represented this month, and 76 of them have added at least one coin to their collections.

There were notable surges in memberships from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Indonesia, Israel, Libya, Malaysia, Mali, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Spain, Ukraine, Vietnam and Zambia.  Almost half of these countries (9 out of 22) speak Spanish.... I wonder why that is.

Afghanistan, Aruba, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Benin, Bosnia & Herzegovina, British Indian Ocean Territory, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Congo, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Iceland, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lesotho, Macau, Madagascar, Malawi, Malta, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Oman, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan each gained one new member.

Croatia passed Norway for 36th rank.

Of the top 30 nations, Mexico grew the fastest in May (3.7% increase), while Russia grew the slowest (0.8%). The USA grew by 1.3% and France grew by 1.1%.

Morocco added their 1,000th member.  Puerto Rico added their 100th member.

Do you have a statistics by languages?

How many claim to be able to communicate in a language. If somebody has several languages, he should enter as a person in each of the spoken languages.

Thanks

Do you have a statistics by languages?

Languages will be skewed to English and French.  Even if a member does not speak either one, by default one is chosen.  A member cannot deselect both of them.  With the new Spanish edition, Spanish joins the other two as a default language.  Simply put every member “speaks” one of the three even if they do not.
