I was recently using Numista to catalog some annual Uncirculated Mint Sets and Proof Sets that I acquired from my father's coin collection, and I questioned if I was entering them correctly.
I logically selected the Grade of “UNC” for each of the coins from the annual Uncirculated Mint Sets.
But then I got stumped when I was cataloging the coins from the annual Proof Sets.
In the past, I selected the Grade of “UNC” when I entered Proof coins that I had purchased as a single coin directly from the mint. But this time, I found myself not selecting any Grade at all, because the coins were from a “Proof” Set, and not from an “Uncirculated” Set.
I spent the last hour reading through a Forum request for Numista to add the option to select “Sets” in the Numista catalog.
Proof and/or mint sets? Posted: 1-Dec-2018 by greatone76

With the current options, which “Grade” should I select for a Proof coin?
Of course, if there is an entry to select a “Proof” version of a coin, I do select that, but it still asks for a “Grade”.
So which Grade should I select? I'd prefer not to leave it blank, because then it reduces the number of “UNC” coins I have cataloged.
But I don't know how to view the number of Proof coins that I have. Please advise if you know.
Thank you.
